Timur Bekmambetov presents his new project Black Lightning, the first Russian superhero action thriller. It’s a story about an ordinary Moscow student who transforms into a hero, a city defender and a mysterious warrior to fight Evil. In present day Moscow, 20-year old Dima Maikov gets an old “Volga — 21” for his birthday from his father. Dima soon realizes that his new car can actually fly, as it is a top secret invention of a soviet backroom laboratory. Dima can now fly over Moscow’s terrible traffic jams, until one day a disaster turns his life upside down and makes him reconsider his worldview. From now on, Dima will have to protect the ones he loves and fight against Evil in Moscow sky on New-Year’s eve.
